Police report two separate incidents of assault and harassment occurred at an RR 3 Tyrone residence in Snyder Township Sunday.
Police said a 43-year-old man and his wife got into an argument at their home at 3 a.m. During the course of the argument, the man became upset and threw an ash tray at his wife. The ash tray struck her on the back of her hand, causing two small cuts and bruising.
After being hit by the ashtray, the woman got the phone in an attempt to call police. The man took the phone away from her and threw it.
According to police, the man then grabbed his wife and threw her against the wall, causing a bruise to her upper arm.
After he slammed her against the wall, police said everything calmed down and the victim remained at the residence until 7 a.m. before leaving.
At 6:50 p.m. that day, the man then got into an argument with his 13-year-old daughter. Police said he punched her in the right side of the face. After being punched, the girl got the phone to call police. The man then took the phone away from her and threw it at her brother, his son, because he made a comment about the man punching his sister. The phone did not hit the brother.
After the altercation, the brother and sister left the residence and called police.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and anticipate filing charges against the man with District Magistrate Fred Miller.
