A tradition for many in the area, the 14th annual DelGrosso Italian Food Festival at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park is scheduled for tomorrow, beginning at 11 a.m.
As always admission and parking are free for visitors to the park.
For 56 years, the DelGrosso Family has been making spaghetti sauce in conjunction with the amusement park in Tipton. The Italian Food Festival is the one time each year where the two loves of the family join together in a celebration of heritage with food, music and fun.
A full day of excitement can be enjoyed for all who attend the festivities. There will be tents set up throughout the park with a variety of different foods in each.
At shed number two, the kitchen’s of DelGrosso’s will feature entrees including seashells primavera, Murf’s lasagna with meatballs, tortellini with sun dried tomato pesto and chicken marsala with seashells.
At the red and white tent, there will be Italian wedding soup, meatball hero sandwiches and Italian rum cake. At the sauce and bread tent, specialty breads from Pacifico Bakers can be enjoyed such as rustic hearth stick, viva hearth stick, pepperoni bread, tomato and sweet pepper focaccia and bruchetta.
At shed number seven, the Tyrone Elks Lodge will feature stuffed shells with meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter. At shed number three, the Buccinese Society will feature Italian sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions in sauce. They will also offer pasta fagioli.
At shed number five, the Mount Carmel social committee will offer Italian pastries such as pizzelle, cookies, biscotti, cannoli, Sfogatelli and love cake. At the green tent, the Frozen Cow will offer European gelato ice cream.
Also a lively day of entertainment is scheduled, including Italian Music Heritage with Dr. Joseph Bentivegna at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Guido Zambotti and his Roman accordion at noon and 3 p.m. and The Cavaliers from Pittsburgh at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
