State police at Hollidaysburg report a 22-year-old Clearfield girl died Sunday as a result of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday in Sinking Valley.
Brooke Yeager was pronounced dead at the Altoona Hospital Sunday afternoon.
Police said the accident occurred at 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 28 on the Sinking Valley Road.
According to police, Angela Bracciale, 20, of Altoona was traveling at a speed too fast for conditions. The vehicle went airborne after cresting a hill which caused her to lose control of the vehicle. The 2000 Ford Focus traveled across the opposite lane of traffic, off the roadway, then struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to spin and strike a second tree.
Yeager was entrapped inside the vehicle for approximately one hour before being freed by mechanical means. She was immediately flown to Altoona Hospital by MedStar.
Bracciale suffered severe injuries.
Neither the passenger or the driver were wearing their seatbelts, police said.
Police were assisted at the scene by AMED EMS, Bellwood EMS, Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co. and Sinking Valley Fire Co.
