The Bald Eagle United Methodist Church has scheduled a Carnival for Christ this evening from 6-8 p.m. to be held at the church.
The event will be held rain or shine, and the public is invited to attend. If it is raining the activities will be moved inside the church.
Numerous booths with free games and other fun activities will be set up for children and youth. Some of the booths include face painting, helium balloons, wet sponge toss, bean bag toss, fish pond and a duck swim.
For those that get hungry, food and drink booths will also be set up. For a small fee of 25 to 50 cents, participants can purchase hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn and baked goods, along with drinks.
Pastor Jay Jones said this is an excellent way for the members of the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church to reach out to the community.
There is also scheduled entertainment from 6:30-7:30 p.m., with a praise band that plays regularly throughout the year at the church. The band plays praise and worship songs and are all local musicians from the area.
Pastor Jones said this is the fourth year the church has planned the carnival, and it is a special way to kick-off the weekly Wednesday for Christ Ministry held at the church.
He said the weekly ministry the church offers on Wednesdays allows the whole family to attend church at the same time.
There are three separate groups on Wednesdays to meet the needs of different age groups: King’s Kids, ages nursery school to fifth grade; JC’s Creations, sixth through twelfth grade and young adult to adult bible study.
Wednesday for Christ is scheduled to begin next Wednesday at 7 p.m., and the youth group meets at 6:30 p.m. at the church.
