The Ninth Annual Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing is scheduled for Thursday, September 18 at the Sinking Valley Country Club, with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
This year a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library Building Fund. The event is sponsored by WPRR 100.1.
Four people are allowed to each team, and handicaps will be provided at registration. Only one single digit handicap per team will be provided.
Entry fees are $300 per team or $75 per person. All entries should be turned in as soon as possible, and the registration deadline is September 9.
A golf package includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, course refreshments and snacks, buffet dinner and door prizes.
The golf outing planning committee consists of Linda Hershey, Fran Brunhuber, Gary Donner and Tommy Bartlett.
The schedule of events for the day includes registration from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The men, women and mixed golf outing will begin at 11 a.m. Dinner will immediately follow the golf outing, and prizes will be awarded after dinner.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive at hole No. 9, longest drive at hole No. 18, closest to the pin No. 16, closest to the pin No. 2, straightest drive hole No. 4, straightest drive hole No. 14 and first and second place teams.
There will also be door prizes and raffle drawings, and a hole in one new car, which will be donated by Stultz and Brown. Other hole in ones will be announced. As a hole-in-one sponsor there is the chance to place a car, cash or vacation at three different challenging holes on the golf course.
Other sponsorship opportunities are also available. For $1,000 a business can be a gold sponsor, which includes four golfers, corporate sponsorship and recognition including the opportunity to display a banner at the tournament. For $500 a business qualifies as a silver sponsor and includes two golfers, corporate sponsorship and recognition.
For the price of $80 the name of a business is included in one of the 18 holes to be played during the tournament. Golfers will have a chance to win a great prize by identifying all the hole sponsors.
