Joyce S. Vaughn, 72, of 1508 Plaza Drive, State College, formerly of Port Matilda, died Friday, November 22, 2002 at Centre Community Hospital.
She was born September 25, 1930 in Fowler Hollow, the daughter of John C. and Eunice (Richards) Vaughn.
A devoted mother, she is survived by two sons, Paul J. Frye and wife Lois of Port Matilda and Norman V. Frye and wife Alison of Salt Lake City, Ut., a daughter Terri Ann Kramer and husband Rick of Royal Oak, Mi., three grandsons, a granddaughter, a greatgrandson, a greatgranddaughter, a nephew and a sister Beryl Cohen of Vallejo, Calif. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Mrs. Vaughn retired from Nittany Oil Company as Office Manager working out of the State College, Bellwood and Philipsburg offices where she made many friends. For many years she was associated with the maintenance and enlarging of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Fowler Hollow, Port Matilda. She was a 1947 graduate of Port Matilda High School and enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held today, SaturdayNovember 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Patricia Gable officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends will be received today at 12 noon until the time of the services.
