Suspicious person
4/17 – Police received a report of two juveniles looking in vehicles. Poice responded and found one of the individuals, who fled and swam the papermill dam to get away. The 17-year-old suspect is from Altoona and was wanted on a juvenile probation.
Gas drive-off
4/17 – Police report somone operating an older model Ford pick-up, possibly blue in color with a red bed, pumped $14.33 worth of gasoline into the vehicle at Uni-Mart and paid only $2.33. Police are continuing to investigate.
Harrasment by communication
4/17 – A woman contacted police regarding her being harassed over the telephone. Police said this is on-going behavior and charges will be filed with District Magistrate Fred Miller.
Comercial burglar alarm
4/17 – Police were called to the Bull Pen at 7:55 a.m. for a report of an activated burglar alarm. The Bull Pen canceled upon police arrival.
No more loitering
4/17 – The general manager of Burger King contacted police regarding loitering outside the facility. The general manager said the loitering problem is getting out of hand. Police will begin enforcing the ordinance.
Child assault
4/17 – Police received a report from a mother who stated her six-year-old daughter was assaulted by a known person about three months ago. Police said an investigation is pending.
Anyone here?
4/17 – Police received a report from a maintenance man stating he found a green duffle bag in an abandoned apartment and beleives someone might be staying there. The maintenance man will make periodic checks at night.
Porch boarders
4/17 – Police received a report of juveniles skateboarding on the porch of a residence. Police contacted the juveniles and counseled them concerning the skateboarding ordinance.
Arrested and arraigned
4/17 – Police report Brian Dean was taken into custody on two felony warrants. He was arraigned before Magistrate Miller and lodged in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $55,000 percentage bail.
Checking for ATVs
4/17 – Police received a report concerning four-wheelers in the area of DJ’s. Officers checked the area and found nothing. They also checked the wooded area at West 23rd St and again found nothing.
Hit-and-run
4/18 – Police received a report from a woman stating that while a vehicle was leaving DJ’s, it struck a parked truck. Police made contact with the owner of the truck, who stated no to worry about it becuase damage was only minor.
Commercial burglar alarm
4/18 – At 5:43 a.m., police responded to BiLo after the alarm sounded. Upon arrival, police found several employees inside loading trucks. The employees stated it was accidentally set off.
Stolen bicycle
4/18 – A woman reported to police that a known person stole her son’s bike, which is a blue Schwinn Z-Force, missing the rear break pads. The bicycle was reported to be at an unknown address in Northwood. No further information was provided.
They’re not doing anything wrong
4/18 – Police were called to the 1300 block of Blair Avenue at 7:55 p.m. for a complaint of juveniles riding skateboards. Police found the juveniles sitting on the sidewalk. Police didn’t see a problem and took no further action.
Harrasing the fireman
4/18 – Police received a report concerning a person who refused to listen to fire police and drove through a blocked off section of the roadway. Police said the man was intoxicated and was identified.
Jumped on Burley
4/18 – A juvenile female reported to police that she was jumped by four males and two females while walking on Burley Avenue at 9:52 p.m. Police said the victim did suffer injuries.
Police have possible suspects.
Sibling rivalry
4/19 – Police received a report from a girl who stated that her 18-year-old brother beat her up.
Upon arrival, Joshua Snyder fled out the backdoor, but was cuaght. During the arrest, police discovered drug paraphernalia on his person. He was charged with assault and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
Need you help
4/19 – Police are asking the community for help in finding a male who drives a red Mustang that tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car at 5:45 p.m.
Police searched the area, but with negative results.

Loud to some
4/19 – Police received a report of loud music at DJ’s at 11:14 p.m. Police said the music was not loud at all.
DUI arrest
4/20 – Police arrested James Robert Barry following a stop sign violation. Barry was transported to Tyrone Hospital for chemical testing. Police said his blood alcohol content equaled .190 percent. Police also arrested Jamey McMillen for suspicion of DUI. Police said his BAC equaled .298 percent.
Computer hacking
4/20 – Police received a report from a woman stating her ex-boyfriend from Bellwood is hacking into her computer and AOL services and slandering her father on his profile.
Pit bull puppy found
4/20 – Police received a report of a found pit bull puppy near the Bull Pen. The owner of the animal was located and picked up the canine at the station.
Breaking and entering
4/20 – Police received a report stating a male juvenile has entered the complainant’s relatives’ vehicle, but did not take anything. Also, the complainant said she watched the boy attempting to pry the doors and windows open at the Thrift Shop with a screwdriver. Police said the actor was gone upon their arrival.
Criminal mischief
4/20 – Police received a report concerning someone writing things like “4:20,” “Marijuana,” and “Mary Jane” on the enclosure of a porch with a marker.

Retail theft
4/2 – State police report a summons for retail theft will be filed against 29-year-old Nichole Lynn Perdew of Altoona after she was caught attempting to steal $65 worth of items from Bickels’ Surplus in Antis Township.
DUI arrest
4/19 – David Alan Walters, 25, of Tyrone was arrested under the suspicion of DUI following a routine traffic stop at 1:26 a.m.
Police said Walters was driving erratically on state Route 1001 in Antis Township. He was taken to Bon Secours Hospital for chemical testing and his blood alcohol concentration equaled .194 percent.
Charges were filed with Magistrate Miller.
Terroristic threats
4/21 – Police received a report from a 20-year-old Delaware woman who stated that she came to Pennsylvania to get a vehicle that was registered to her from her ex-boyfriend. Police said when she got to the residence to pick up the car, her ex-boyfriend broke the driver’s side door window out of the car.
Police said after the victim got the car and left the residence, the ex-boyfriend called and left a threatening message on the victim’s voice mall.
Retail theft
4/22 – Charges of retail theft were filed against 21-year-old Keith A. Baughman of Altoona following an incident that occurred at Bickels’ Surplus store in Antis Township.
Police said Baughman attempted to steal a Phillips MP3/DVD/VCR combo player. valued at $125.
