Minor injuries reported
1/27 – State police in Huntingdon were called to state Route 350 in Warriors Mark Township at 3 a.m. to investigate an accident.
Police said Doug Allan Newberry of Altoona lost control of his vehicle on the slippery roadway, struck an embankment and rolled over. Police said he suffered a minor injury.
Heated argument
1/29 – Hollidaysburg-based state police responded to a SR 1013 Tyrone Township residence at 11:30 p.m. to investigate a reported domestic dispute.
A 19-year-old woman told police that her 33-year-old step-father grabbed her around the neck during a “heated argument.”
Police said a harassment summons was filed with District Magistrate Patrick Jones.
No more tunes
1/30 – State police in Hollidaysburg report a Pioneer CD player, a black CD case and 50 compact discs were stolen from a vehicle parked in a lot along SR 1001 in Antis Township.
Simple assault arrest
1/30 – Hollidaysburg-based state police report a 21-year-old Altoona man was arrested for simple assault following a domestic dispute at a residence in Sinking Valley.
Parenting situation
1/31 – State police in Huntingdon are investigating a report that a Warriors Mark woman left marks of a 3-year-old boys’ arm and buttocks after spanking him because he had an “accident in his pants.”
No injuries reported
1/31 – Wendell Watters Jr. of Tyrone escaped injury in a single-vehicle accident that occurred along I-99 northbound near the Tyrone Exit at 11:20 p.m.
Hollidaysburg-based state police report Watters lost control of his 2000 Kia Sephia on the snow-covered roadway. In an attempt to avoid striking another vehicle, Watters steered toward the edge of the roadway and struck two PENNDOT signs and the east embankment.
He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
“High”-ride to school
1/31 – Police in Huntingdon report charges have been filed against a 13-year-old Orbisonia girl and a 14-year-old Mapleton Depot girl after they were found to have possessed and smoked marijuana while on their way to Southern Huntingdon High School at 9 a.m.
