Route 220 traffic accident
1/16- A 1998 Mazda 626 was driving south on Rte. 220 and a tractor-trailor was traveling north when the Mazda crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the truck. The tractor-trailor then went off the road, spilling its load. The operator of the Mazda was life-flighted to Altoona Hospital and remains in serious condition.
Endangering welfare of children
1/16- A Philipsburg woman has filed charges against her boyfriend. She reportedly left her 8 year-old mentally disabled son with him while she went to work. When she called to check on them, no one answered the phone. A friend went over to the house and found the disabled boy home alone. The boyfriend allegedly left him there to go to the Osceola Hotel.
Cabin burglary
1/14- Huntingdon police say that a Mapleton Depot man reported that his cabin was broken into and some cans of beer were stolen.
