The Huntingdon County Republican Committee will hold its annual Fall Rally dinner Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Days Inn, Huntingdon. The evening will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.
Mayor Foster Ulrich of Huntingdon will serve as master of ceremonies. He is president of the county GOP committee.
Carol H. Fisher, wife of Mike Fisher, Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, will be the guest speaker.
Mrs. Fisher is a native of Johnstown and a graduate of Johnstown High School in 1964. She received her bachelor of science degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her master’s in education from the University of Pittsburgh.
She has worked in the field of education since college graduation, teaching elementary and pre-school children in the earlier years. Currently, she is an adjunct at Duquesne University where she supervises student teachers. She is also an educational consultant for Harcourt School Publishing, working in school districts across Western Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Fisher has been married to Attorney General Mike Fisher for 29 years. They are the parents of a daughter, Michelle, and son, Brett.
Active in many civic and charitable organizations throughout her career, the guest speaker is especially dedicated to the Parent and Child Guidance Center where she has served as a board member and now volunteers for many of their fund-raising events.
