Bluegrass, classic rock, oldies, and country music make for an exciting week of concerts in Tyrone. “Summer Sundays” features the Altoona based band Double Vision on July 21 at 6 p.m. on the Reservoir Park amphitheater stage. The members of Double Vision have been performing together for over ten years, although the members possess many years of experience having performed with various bands throughout the region. Under the leadership of Dave Balstino on keyboards, Double Vision prides itself in offering the best in classic rock favorites, traditional and current country music, and oldies. The group has performed in the Altoona, State College, Bedford, and Johnstown areas.
In the event of rain the program will be held at St. Mathew Hall on Street.
Bluegrass and heritage music will be the feature on July 23 as the “Intown Tuesday” series continues at Epworth Manor on Washington Avenue. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Just Rehearsin’ will perform traditional bluegrass music as well as many of their own compositions. This five-member band combines music and story telling which embodies the heritage of our area. Just Rehearsin’ has performed at festivals throughout Pennsylvania and Florida. In the event of rain the concert will be held in the Epworth Manor auditorium.
All concerts are free of charge and the audience is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Funding for this project is made possible by a grant from the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of PA, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and Tyrone Borough.
