The final Sunday Concert in Reservoir Park, Tyrone, will thrill the audience with a mixture of bluegrass, Celtic, and swing. Tolins Trio, a State College band, is an acoustic trio that features flatpicked guitar, standup bass, fiddles and vocals. The seasoned (and wizened) musicians perform throughout the Central Pennsylvania region and have been a featured performer at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.
In addition to performing as part of festivals and family nights, band members Andy Tolins, Bruce Young, and Bill Stetz have teamed up to present an elementary school outreach program titled “The Roots of Country.”
The Sunday concert series begins at 6:00 in Tyrone’s Reservoir Park and is free of charge. Audience members are encourage to bring a chair or blanket for seating. The concert project is supported by the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and Tyrone Borough. The summer concert series will end on August 18 with the annual Organ and Voice Concert at 7:30 in the Tyrone Lutheran Church.
