A Kids Fair that was recently held at Tyrone Hospital attracted children, parents, and grandparents from around the area. Children enjoyed a castle bounce, dance performances from students of Andrea’s School of Dance, and martial arts demonstrations. Children were invited to bring their dolls, teddy bears, and other special friends for a medical check-up. Steamer, the Altoona Curve mascot, visited the event. An air medical transport helicopter from STAT Medevac landed on the hospital’s helipad to give event attendees an opportunity to meet the pilot and medical crew and get a close look at the helicopter and equipment used to transport critically ill persons. Those who attended were also eligible for prizes. Prize winners were: Carla Mae, winner of harvest gift basket; Julie Brenneman, winner of Gardner’s Candies gift basket; Linda Irvin, winner of Pampered Chef gifts; Kim Young, winner of Body Shop gifts; Vicky Shaw winner of Community Pharmacy gifts and Kylie Edmondson, recipient of passes to DelGrosso’s Amusement.
