The Rotary Club of Tyrone is still calling on area clubs, organizations and businesses to register for the annual Tyrone area Christmas parade to be held on Friday, December 5 at 6:15 p.m.
Judging will take place, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners for “Best in Parade”.
Before the parade, at 6 p.m., there will be the annual tree lighting at the post office with Cary Simpson of WTRN broadcasting live. He will be joined by the K-4 program students of Tyrone Area School District, who will be Christmas caroling on the steps.
Groups still interested in signing up for the parade should contact Gunter Volders at 684-0747 or Rose Black at the Chamber office at 684-0736.
This is not a complete or final list for the parade but those registered to date: Tyrone Fire Police, Tyrone Police, Tyrone Milling’s Draft Horse Hitch of Percheron Horses, American Red Cross, Star-Lite Twirlers, TACO, Tyrone Area School Marching Band, Tyrone FFA, AMED and the American Legion Auxiliary.
