This year, Albemarle will present the distribution of the Ride and Slide passes at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park on Tyrone Community Day on August 1, 2008. To obtain this pass, residents must meet at the tent next to the main ticket plaza-adjacent to Murf’s patio.
Children from Kindergarten through 12 will be able to get a free pass for the day and ride or slide all day long. The distribution will begin at 10:30 a.m. and continue all the way until 6 p.m. Don’t miss out on a free ride and slide pass at Tyrone Community Day this August.
If residents have vintage photos or memorabilia from the early years of Tyrone or DelGrosso’s Amusement Park (Bland’s Park), bring them to Shed No. 2 and share them with friends and family.
Also, around 2 p.m., there will be children’s games at the center of the park. Kids may enjoy a hula-hoop contest, smelly sneaker contest and many more games to compete for prizes. Remember, this event is at 2 p.m. and is in the center of the park, don’t forget!
For more than 15 years, Tyrone has been a community thriving on the collaborations of citizens. The annual picnic celebration is a way of thanking and recognizing the hard work and efforts that the community has brought to Tyrone. The TACP Committee is looking forward to spending a wonderful day of summer fun, delicious foods and entertainment, but mostly fun with the community. The TACP Committee hopes that everyone enjoys their time at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.
