Leslie Joe Grassmyer, 53, of Tipton died Monday afternoon, July 14, 2008 at his home.
He was born April 1, 1955 in Altoona a son of Louis F. and Marjorie M. (Berry) Grassmyer. He married Susan D. Litz May 3, 1980 at Tipton Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; sons: Jesse J. and Dustin L. both at home; granddaughter: Rayla A. Garland; brothers: Danny L. and wife, Sharon of Warriors Mark and Louis F. Jr. of Bellwood; a sister: Darlene M. Musselman and husband, Fred of Tyrone; stepbrother: Craig Price of Denver, CO; stepfather: Harold Price of Tipton; and mother-in-law; Wanda Sommer of Tipton. He was preceded in death by his father in 1962, his mother Marjorie Price in 2003 and brothers Patrick L. in 1957 and Micheal A. in 1985. He was employed as a carpenter at Champion Homes, Claysburg. Joe was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on race cars. Joe especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
At Joe’s request there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Riggles Gap Bible Church with Pastor William Ice officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Joe’s memory may be made to Home Nursing Hospice, or to the family.
