Paul C. Mahan, 85, of 117 Cherry Ave., Tyrone, PA, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 26, 1922 in Johnstown a son of Lester Charles and Mary Margaret (Karcher) Mahan.
He was twice married, first to Betty Lichtenfels, now deceased, then to the former Ann Smith.
He is survived by his wife Ann Mahan of 38 years of Tyrone and two sons and two daughters: Kevin Mahan (Bonnie) of Columbus, OH, Dennis Mahan (Katrina) of Pittsburgh, PA, Sharon Little (Chuck) of Tyrone, and Paula Lingenfelter (Scott) of Altoona.
He had eight grandchildren, a brother Carl Mahan and sister Ruth Boes of Johnstown.
Step-daughter Diane Dionis of Harrisburg and a step-son Melvin Mayhue.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Johnstown High School and a US Army Veteran of WWII.
He was a former salesman for the Bayer Bros. Co. and retired as owner of the Foodland Grocery Store in Tyrone after 20 years of service.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Fr. Norman Imgrund and Rev. Don Campbell officiating. Interment with Flag Representation will follow at Blair Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
