M. Irene Vallela, 90, formerly of 11 Street Towers, Altoona, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois, PA.
She was born July 18, 1917 at Osceola Mills a daughter of Charles E. and Anna L. (Miller) Nau.
She was married in 1936 at Cumberland, MD. to Carmen Vallela, who died in October of 1972.
She is survived by a son, James D. Vallela, of Columbus, OH.
Five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A sister, Doris Garmen, of Dubois, PA.
She was preceded in death by brothers James, Charles and a sister Shirley Nau.
She was a Charter Member of the Grace Family Bible Church in Duncansville. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Republican National Committee.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. James A. Zaebst officiating. Interment will follow at Baughman Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
