On Wednesday, June 4, the Food Network will be coming to DelGrosso’s Amusement Park to tape the first Spaghetti Wednesday of the year for their hit TV show “Unwrapped”, with host Marc Summers.
Whether you’re a Food Network enthusiast, a fan of the show, or wish to be seen on national TV, officials hope you’ll join the DelGrosso family in welcoming the “Unwrapped” production team to show them and the entire country what a wonderful place central Pennsylvania can be for great food and fun.
The “Unwrapped” crew will begin taping at the park at 4:30 p.m., and your best chance to see them in action will be to come at that time. The shoot at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park will end a full day of taping at DelGrosso Foods where the process of making pasta sauce will be captured in detail as part of the program.
Food Network’s “Unwrapped” reveals the answers to these questions and more. Each week, host Marc Summers teaches viewers how food is manufactured, from cans of fruit cocktail and cherry cordials to Super Blow Pops and Life Savers.
Part history lesson, part behind-the-scenes tour, Unwrapped feeds your appetite for learning something new about what’s stored in your pantry.  Packaged around a single theme, like “things that fizz” or “things with holes in it,” each episode features bite-sized portions of everything you never knew about your favorite foods.
Food Network will capture the production process of how DelGrosso Foods makes it famous pasta sauces from start to finish. After several hours filming at the plant, cameras will shoot footage at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park and the first official “Spaghetti Wednesday” of the summer season, which begins at 4:30 p.m. In addition, Michael DelGrosso and Joe DelGrosso will each conduct on-camera interviews to talk about the rich history behind their family business and where the company is today. The episode featuring DelGrosso Foods will air on Food Network in September 2008.
Besides the upcoming Food Network taping, a live seven-minute cooking segment on the national daytime NBC show “In The Loop With iVillage” aired in March, and DelGrosso Foods is gaining even more national exposure this summer:
• Every Day With Rachael Ray – DelGrosso’s Amusement Park is included in the June/July issue of Every Day With Rachael Ray in a 10-page story titled, “America’s Greatest Amusement Parks.” The issue, which focuses on summer food and fun, features a ‘Snack Attack’ page, highlighting theme parks that serve food just as memorable as the rides and games. The description suggests readers visit Tipton on a Spaghetti Wednesday “for a heaping pile of pasta and side of meatballs enrobed in an award-winning meat sauce.”
• SOFI Award – A prestigious culinary honor was recently awarded to DelGrosso Foods by The National Association for The Specialty Food Trade.  One of the company’s newest introductions – La Famiglia DelGrosso Uncle Bo’s Roasted Red Pepper Tour (a flavor in the new gourmet line) was named as a Silver Finalist in the Outstanding Pasta Sauce category of the 36th Annual Sofi Awards Competition. The brand received the coveted and recognizable “Sofi Award” statuette (of a chef). More than 3,000 specialty food items in 31 categories were tasted and judged in the product awards competition, which took place in New York City. The judges were Kara Rubin, Whole Foods Market; Brian D. Caplan, Bacchus Wine & Spirits; Stephanie Cook, Raley’s; Cristina Pirello, host of Cristina Cooks; Shirley Cheng, Culinary Institute of America; Robert Sickles, Sickles Markete; Michelle Cosmo, Crate & Barrel; and Frank Carpentier, Parade Magazine. Gold winners in each category will be selected at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City (June 29 – July 1) where DelGrosso Foods will be present with a booth as they do each year.
• 2008 Small Business Exporter of the Year Award – Michael DelGrosso will receive an award from Saint Francis University Small Business honoring him as the 2008 Small Business Exporter of the Year. Michael will be honored at an Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, June 11 on the Saint Francis University Campus.
