Next week, residents, staff, volunteers and families of those residing in assisted living facilities across the nation will once again celebrate National Assisted Living week.
Tyrone’s Colonial Courtyard is planning several special events throughout the week to help celebrate.
On Monday, September 10 at 10:30 a.m. everyone is invited to gather together to share some old fashion momentos. Interested individuals can bring along an antique and talk to an appraiser. This special event is presented by Antique Keeper in Tyrone.
Also on Monday there will be a dessert party and sing-a-long with the Happy Hatters.
A free seminar presented by Mary Bach of the AARP will be held on Tuesday, September 11. Her topic will be “Identity Theft” and she will begin her presentation at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, September 12 brings “Bingo Mania”, beginning at 2 p.m., presented by Home Instead Senior Care.
Thursday, September 13 at 10:30 a.m. will be “Brain Teasers for Fun” and at 2 p.m., “Maintain Your Brain”, presented by Alzheimer’s Association of Blair County.
Finally, on Friday, September 14 at 2 p.m. entertainment will be provided by Lou Stein with “Big Band Sounds”.
