Rep. Mike Fleck (R-Huntingdon) has announced that he will be opening his Tyrone district office on Wednesday, January 17. He has hired lifelong Tyrone resident Monika Kost to be his legislative assistant in that office.
“I’m very excited to work with the people of this district. I think it’s going to be very interesting and challenging. I look forward to working with everyone and want to help out any way I can,” Kost said.
Her responsibilities include fielding any constituent problems with birth and death certificates, any problems with driver’s licenses and any other state issues that constituents need help with.
Before her career in public service began, Kost worked for her family’s card and gift business. In 2000 she bought the business and renamed it, Monika’s Cards and Gifts.
“Monika is a great asset to my staff. She knows the area and the people so well. I an confident she will work hard to serve this district,” Fleck said.
Kost and her husband, James have three children. Her twin sons, Byron and Evan are freshmen at Juniata and Bucknell respectively. Her youngest, Adam is a sophomore at Tyrone Area High School.
