Kerbaugh Road and Becker Road in Antis Township was the scene of a hit and run crash January 3.
Brian Helsley, Age 36 of Tyrone RD 2, was traveling north on Kerbargh Road. He failed to stop at the stop sign posted intersection. He then traveled straight through the intersection. At the point of impact, he left the roadway and dropped in a culvert, coming to rest facing north. Helsley and a passenger, Lisa Lee, age 38 of Tyrone left the scene without reporting the crash.
Helsley and Lee escaped injury. Helsley was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed, stop sign and yield signs, and immediate notice of accident to police.

River Road in Antis Township was the scene of a one car accident on January 12.
Linda Greene was going south on River Road and lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway. She crossed over the northbound lane and hit a tree.
Greene was not injured and was wearing her seat belt.

SR 4027 (Old 220) in Snyder Township was the scene of a two car accident on January 12.
Romona Frank of Tyrone, was traveling north on SR 4027 and lost control on the icy roadway, spinning out with part of her vehicle blocking the northbound lane. She got out of her vehicle to flag down assistance. Chastity Murray of Tyrone, was also northbound. Due to it being dark, she could not see Frank across the road. Murray hit Frank’s car. That impact spun Frank’s car, which hit her, knocking her into a yard.
Frank was taken to Tyrone Hospital for treatment.

Old Route 220 and Back Vail Road intersection in Snyder Township was the scene of a DUI crash January 13.
This occurred as a white male juvenile 17 years of age was traveling east along Back Vail Road in a 2002 Ford Explorer. He approached the intersection with Route 220. The accused failed to stop for the posted stop sign at that location and traveled across Route 220. He then went down an embankment, partially into Bald Eagle Creek.
The accused was not injured at the crash. However, he displayed indications of being intoxicated. The accused was subsequently arrested for DUI and taken to Tyrone Hospital for blood testing. Charges will be filed with the Magisterial District Judge.

SR 452 in Snyder Township was the scene of a one car accident January 13.
Stacy Mason, age 26 of Alexandria was traveling south along SR 453. She fell asleep behind the wheel while attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Then, she traveled off the western portion of the road, struck a guide rail, glanced off of a utility pole and rolled over to final rest.
Mason was cited for careless driving by the Magisterial District Judge. She was wearing her seat belt and was not injured.
