The Tyrone Area swim teams split their meet with Bishop McCort on Wednesday.
The Tyrone Boys won 106 to 49 to improve to 4 and 1 on the season. For the boys, Ethan Nulton scored took first in two events with a time of 2:00.11 in the 200 yd. Freestyle and a time of 1:00.67 in the 100 yd. backstroke. Philip Kreckel also came up a double winner for Tyrone with a time of :24.33 in the 50 yd. Free event and a time of :56.92 in the 100 yd. Freestyle. Dustin Elder was first in the 500 yd. Freestyle event with a time of 5:40.07. The boys also had first-place finishes in the 200 yd. Medley Relay (1:57.37), the 200 yd. Free Relay (2:13.03) and the 400 yd. Free Relay (3:49.07).
Dustin Elder took second in the 200 yd. IM with a time of 2:27.98. Dudley McNitt was second in the 100 yd. Butterfly with a time of 1:44.93. Chris Closson had a second-place finish in the 100 yd. Freestyle with a :58.30. Evan Lewis placed second in the 100 yd. Backstroke with a time of 1:22.71.
The Lady Eagles fell to Bishop McCort by a 101 to 64 count. Brittany Day was first in the 50 yd. Freestyle with a time of :30.93. Abby Cowfer had a first-place finish in the 100 yd. Freestyle with a time of 1:08.87. Kelly Pearson took first in the 100 yd. Backstroke with a time of 1:13.22. In the 200 yd. Free Relay team event, Tyrone finished first with a time of 2:03.82.
Tyrone took second in the 200 yd. Medley Relay with a time of 2:27.05 as well as in the 400 yd. Free Relay with a time of 5:12.54.
Tyrone also had a number of individual second-place finishes. Kelly Pearson was second in the 200 yd. Freestyle with a time of 2:21.36 while Chynna Beisel was second in the 200 yd. IM with a time of 2:53.41. Beisel also had a second-place finish in the 500 yd. Freestyle with a time of 6:20.74. Christina Brisban was second in the 100 yd. Breastroke with a time of 1:33.48.
The Lady Golden Eagles are now 2 and 3 on the season.
