The Bellwood-Antis Lady Blue Devils volleyball team (4-0) won their fourth straight match of the season defeating Juniata Valley 3-1, in four games, at Bellwood on Wednesday.
While the Lady Hornets couldn’t stop the Bellwood-Antis girls from improving their record in Mountain Athletic Conference play to 39-0 over the four-year existence of the league, Juniata Valley did break the Lady Blue Devils incredible streak of winning 75 straight games during the regular season, going back to the Bishop Guilfoyle match late in the 2004-05 season.
B-A won 26-24, 25-16, 20-25, and 25-15, dropping only the third game of the match.
Chelsea Wilson had 17 kills, 12 service points and six blocks for the Lady Blue Devils, Lauren Leap had 35 assists and Jannell Wilt added 11 digs. Kristyne Ginter also had 11 service points and Rachel Albright and Leap added seven service points each.
The Bellwood-Antis junior varsity (3-1) won their third match in a row, defeating the Juniata Valley junior varsity 29-27, 25-18 and 15-13.
Bellwood-Antis will participate in the St. Francis Invitational on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. and then travel to Bishop Guilfoyle on Monday on 6:30 p.m.
