Access Device Fraud
State police reported that between the dates of January 2007 and May 2008 an unknown and unauthorized individual used a credit card on numerous occasions owned by Traci Lynne Mickey of Warriors Mark. Police said that losses totaled $680.

Harassment
On June 5, state police stated that Caleb Mattern, 29, Tyrone and Jeremy Wike, 25, Bellwood got into a fight in the parking lot of Veneziales Restaurant in Antis Twp. Both individuals were cited at District Magistrate Fred B. Miller’s office.

Theft from a Motor Vehicle
State police reported on June 5 that an unknown actor smashed the forward windshield and all side windows on a vehicle owned by Douglas E. Peterson, 38, Tyrone. The actor also removed a stereo face plate from the interior of the vehicle. The incident occurred along Grazierville Road in Antis Twp. An estimated loss is pending. Any person with information on this crime is asked to contact Hollidaysburg State Police.

Thrown from motorcycle
On June 9, state police reported a crash along SR 453 in Snyder Twp. when Jeremy R. Myers, 21, Tyrone was traveling south along SR 453, north of Tyrone Borough on a motorcycle. Myers lost control of the motorcycle while rounding a curve, then struck the roadway and was thrown an unknown distance. Myers was taken to Altoona Hospital for injuries by way of Tyrone EMS. Myers will be cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and Operating a Motorcycle Without a Valid License. Myers was also not the owner of the motorcycle, so the owner will be cited for permitting him to operate the motorcycle.

Fleeing and Eluding/DUI
Altoona Police reported on June 10 that they observed a vehicle fail to stop coming out of an alley onto 7th Street in Altoona. The vehicle traveled over a concrete median and made several more traffic violations. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens on their cruiser, but the vehicle continued to travel east on Chestnut Avenue at a high rate of speed. The vehicle finally pulled over at 25th Avenue and Juniata Gap Road after a short pursuit. Police found that the driver was Tina Stehley of Bellwood. Stehley was taken into custody for Fleeing and Eluding, Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, and numerous other traffic violations. She was arraigned by District Magistrate Moran.

Careless Driving
On June 10, state police reported an accident along I-99 in Antis Twp., 295 feet south of Exit 41. Ronald C. Shoenberger, Jr., 25, Tyrone was traveling north on I-99 at an apparent high rate of speed as he approached a traveling vehicle ahead of him driven by Barbara A. Calderwood, 71, Bellwood. Shoenberger’s vehicle struck the rear of Calderwood’s vehicle and lifted it into the air for approximately 75 feet before Calderwood’s vehicle came back down on the roadway. Calderwood and her vehicle were then pushed off the roadway into the median. Shoenberger continued north on I-99 for approximately 700 feet before coming to rest along the northbound lanes on the shoulder. Calderwood’s vehicle crossed the median strip and came out onto the southbound lane of travel approximately 200 feet north of the impact.
According to police, this crash occurred in the construction zone on I-99. Calderwood was apparently traveling at the reduced speed posted and Shoenberger ignored the warning signs. Shoenberger was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. Calderwood was belted and also suffered moderate injuries. Both drivers were transported to the Altoona Hospital Trauma Unit via Bellwood Ambulance Company.
