Tyrone’s Lady Eagle volleyball team is trying to find the right combination to win a Varsity volleyball game.
With the season two weeks old, the wins are hard to come by especially, when you play in the Mountain Conference. Huntingdon is always tough, P-O is ranked fifth in the state, BEA is really good this year, and Central took them to five games for their only loss and last night Central Mountain (a quad-A) school came in and dominated the young Lady Eagles.
Tyrone played much better Tuesday night than Monday (at Central) but dropped three straight to the Lady Cats, 25-11, 25-8 and 25-12.
“We definitely played better than Monday night, and Kassie Gardner really stepped up her game as did Kristen Gearhart, We need everyone to play hard to have a chance to win,” Coach Jim Cushion stated.
Gardner led Tyrone with eight service points and had numerous digs to pace Tyrone. Paris Harden and Kristen Fry each had four digs.
Tyrone’s JV team dropped a two-game match also losing 25-7 and 25-10.
In the second game Chelsey Hook had two service points for Tyrone.
Tyrone is now 0 for 5 on the year and travel to Penns Valley Thursday night.
