Karen L. Bayletts, 51, of Pennsylvania Furnace, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
She was born December 2, 1954 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Albert “Tubby” and Jean Baney Summers.
On October 7, 1978 she married Richard N. Bayletts who survives at home.
Karen was a 1972 graduate of State College High School and went on to Beautician School and became a licensed beautician. After working as a beautician early in life, she worked at Penn State University for 29 years, working many of those years in the Student Aid Office.
Early in life Mrs. Bayletts attended the United Methodist Church and following her marriage attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College.
Karen especially enjoyed collecting snowmen and making various types of crafts, as well as gardening, especially working with flowers. She also enjoyed her dog “Scrappy”.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Troy Bayletts at home and a brother, Less Summers of Pennsylvania Furnace.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral will be on Friday, January 6, 2006 at a time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karen’s memory may be made to Huntingdon Hospice Program.
