At 10:30 a.m. worship this Sunday, July 17, Tyrone Presbyterians will welcome Tyrone soprano Eileen Kough Mitchell and also salute the American hymn composer Robert Lowry.
Mitchell, long-time director of music at Tyrone’s Church of the Good Shepherd, will present the 2003 choral hit: You raise me up so I can stand on mountains/ You raise me up to walk on stormy seas/ I am strong when I am on your shoulders/ You raise me up to more than I can be.
Worshippers also will raise their voices in song as they salute hymn composer and former professor of literature at Bucknell University, Robert Lowry.
Church organist Richard Merryman will provide keyboard accompaniment for worshippers as they sing the Robert Lowry favorites Shall We Gather at the River and I Need Thee Every Hour.
Presbyterian Pastor Robert Dunkelberger will bring the morning message and invites people of this community to join Tyrone Presbyterians in worship at 10:30 this Sunday morning for the spoken word and joyful music which includes – something old and something new.
