As part of your Memorial Day weekend festivities, join Blair Senior Services, for a fun-filled day at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park on Sunday, May 29.
Bring the entire family to enjoy a tasty DelGrosso\’s chicken barbecue luncheon, complete with Murf’s famous potato salad. Tickets must be purchased by May 20 at any Senior Community Center. Costs are $6.50 for adults and $5.50 for children that are under 12 years of age.
Barbeque lunch take-outs are also available at locations in Altoona, Tyrone, Claysburg, and Williamsburg.
Young folks, and those young at heart, can celebrate the beginning of summer by riding the many park amusements. Or, enjoy a round of golf on DelGrosso\’s Championship miniature golf course. Discount miniature golf and ride coupons, can be picked up at any Senior Community Center.
Everyone is invited to watch Blair County\’s very own \”Elvis\” (Phil McCaulley) on stage beginning at 12:30 p.m. An \”Older\” American Idol contest and a musical tribute to our troops will follow.
Any Blair County resident 60 years of age or over may enter the idol contest, or participate in Blair Senior Services\’ first annual pie baking contest. Registration forms are available at local Senior Community Centers.
Athletes, 55 years of age or over, that wish to participate in the fourth annual Blair County Golden Games can register at the park until 4 p.m. Athletes that have registered for the miniature golf competition will compete on the Championship course from 9 until 11 a.m.
The Jaffa Mosque Antique Car Show will be on display at the Park all day.
Proceeds from “Blair Senior Services Day” will be used to help older Blair County residents age with dignity and independence.
