A very tough and seasoned Bedford track and field squad rolled into Memorial Stadium on Tuesday in the season opener for the track and field season. The Bisons wasted little time in showing their speed and skill in dusting the Blue Devils. The Bedford boys knocked off Bellwood-Antis 89-61 and the Bedford girls defeated the Lady Blue Devils by the same exact 89-61 score.
Aaron Bell won the 1600 and 3200 runs and anchored the winning 3200 relay team to lead the B-A boys. The Blue Devils were shutout in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Brandon Pruznak won the 800 and anchored the victorious 1600 relay team along with Evan Celmo, Chris Edmiston and Ben Hatch. Evan Hughes, Hatch and Edmiston joined Bell to win the 3200 relay. The Blue Devils turned in a good effort in the field events. Tyler Narehood won the shot out and Tony DelGrosso won the discuss and was second in the shot and third in the javelin. Dustin Harris won the javelin and Dwayne Cherry was second to gibe B-A a sweep in the javelin.
On the girls side, Allison Sinisi took honors in both the javelin and pole vault to lead the Lady Blue Devils. Steph Hatch won the high jump, was second in the triple jump and third in the long jump, as well as leading off the winning 400 relay team.
