The Central Pa Wolves Ice had their five game win streak stopped by the Planet Ice Avalanche on Thursday at Galactic Ice. The Wolves (12-4-3 in regular season games) had won five in a row and nine of 10 before Planet Ice scored single goals in each of the first two periods and Planet Ice goal keeper Richardson stopped all 11 of the Central PA shots on goal.
Planet Ice improves to 9-8-2.
Central PA goal keeper Fred Dorman (Bellwood-Antis) allowed just two of the 23 shots Planet Ice peppered the net with, but his teammates couldn’t dent their opponents goal crease.
This had been the final scheduled contest for the Wolves, but the game that was postponed on Monday, due to the snowy weather and icy conditions against Altoona, will be played on Thursday, March 10, at 9:45 p.m. at Galactic Ice. The Wolves will be the home team.
Central Pennsylvania Ice Hockey Association (CPIHA) playoffs will begin March 14.
