From pen and ink to watercolor, the Tyrone Regional Arts Council’s current gallery exhibit of five local artists represents an array of technique and artistic interpretation.
Joe Servello is a renowned painter with multiple awards to his credit. His print of a pen and ink drawing, entitled Don Quixote, reflects Joe’s skill in capturing detail and mood.
Magnolia and Bird by Cindy Bennett uses watercolor to obtain a gentle and flowing style.
Janet Marshall’s subject matter often reflects the things of everyday life. Her approach, however, is unique and whimsical as individuals can see by closely observing The Pig.
Tyrone native Carolyn Patton combines intricate pen and ink lines with watercolor to obtain the beautiful painting entitled Windows.
Swindell composed a delightful graphite drawing of characters from the Tyrone Community Players’ production of Peter Pan.
All five paintings are part of a raffle being held by the Tyrone Community Players and will be on exhibit next to Central Distributors on Pennsylvania Avenue through mid-March.
Gallery exhibits are made possible by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, the National endowment for the Arts, a federal agency and Tyrone Borough.
