The Tyrone Golden Eagle Junior High basketball team continued it’s winning ways yesterday as the Bald Eagle Eagles visited the Tyrone Area High School gym.
The Golden Eagles got off to a good start, going up 4-0 early behind a bucket by Josh Bradley and a couple of free throws by Chris McCaulley. But the Little Eagles slipped off the track the rest of the quarter as Bald Eagle built a 10-4 first quarter lead.
In the second period, Tyrone got going with a three-pointer from Jon Hampton and a couple of buckets by Nate Dane. But point guard Brandon Gehret was forced to leave the game midway through the quarter with foul trouble, and Tyrone struggled with the Bald Eagle press.

Following intermission, Tyrone toughened up it’s defense.
Ethan Etters came off the bench to provide a spark defensively with his quickness, and Tyrone spread scoring out over five players as they went on a 14-3 third quarter run to go up 28-21.
