The PIAA has announced the schedule for the weekend for the 2004 PIAA Class-A girls volleyball championship.
The Bellwood-Antis Lady Blue Devils earned a berth in the championships by defeating Geibel Catholic in first round PIAA action on Tuesday at Yough High School.
The PIAA championships will be played at Robert Morris University in Coraopolis on Friday and Saturday.
Bellwood-Antis will be in a pool that includes District III champ Reading Central Catholic, District XI champ Marion Catholic and District X runner-up Linesville.
The Lady Blue Devils will play Linesville at 8 a.m. on Friday, Reading Central Catholic at 12:40 p.m. and Marion Catholic at 4:40 p.m.
On Saturday, the first place team from that pool will play the second place team from Pool “B,” and the second place school from that pool will play the top team from pool “B” at 9 a.m. The winners will then play for the state championship at 2:30 p.m.
Schools in the “B” pool include District VI champ Northern Cambria, District 10 champ Cochranton, District V champ North Star and District VII champ Farrell.
