Rep. Larry O. Sather (R-Huntingdon) has received a Guardian of Small Business award from the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
The NFIB presents Guardian of Small Business awards to Pennsylvania legislators who voted favorably on key small-business issues at least 75 percent of the time during the 2003-04 session.
“The men and women who operate small businesses represent the backbone of our economy, so I am proud to do what I can to support the small-business community here at home and across Pennsylvania,” Sather said. “Small-business owners work hard every day to build a better life for themselves and their families, and in turn they are building a more prosperous Pennsylvania.”
The NFIB in Pennsylvania represents more than 29,000 small businesses, from high-tech manufacturers to retailers, farmers and professional service providers. Ninety-eight percent of businesses in Pennsylvania have workforces of 100 or less.
“The record shows that Rep. Sather has been a consistent friend of small business here in the Commonwealth,” said Mark Richards, Assistant State Director of the NFIB in Pennsylvania. “The NFIB is proud to recognize him as one of our Guardians of Small Business.”
