Home Nursing Agency was recently named one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania by Great Place to Work Institute.
Great Place to Work Institute is an independent company, which also conducts Fortune Magazine’s 100 best companies to work for in America.
Winners were chosen, based heavily on employee perceptions of their workplace. The Institute’s definition of a great place to work is “where employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the people they work with.”
These defining characteristics, along with what the Great Place to Work Institute calls a “culture audit”, were measured in an independent, random survey of all full and part-time employees of Home Nursing Agency and Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania. Answers to the survey questions played an important role in the outcome of the prestigious award.
The surveys were mailed to employees’ homes early this summer. In order to participate, employees were required to mail the completed survey back to the Great Place to Work Institute.
“This designation was employee-driven and congratulations belong to all the employees of Home Nursing Agency. This is a tremendous honor and true reflection of the type of people that are part of Home Nursing Agency. It validates the exceptional culture we have created and adds significantly to our competitive advantage,” said President and Chief Executive Officer, Robert Packer.
The following information regarding the award was provided by the Home Nursing Agency in a recent press release.
“This survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania.
“The award program, created in 2000, is the first of its kind offered by a state in the country. The program is a public/private partnership of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Team Pennsylvania Foundation, Kuntz Lesher LLP, Central Penn Business Journal, the Great Place to Work Institute, and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry.
“Home Nursing Agency is a premier provider of in-home and community-based services in Pennsylvania and one of the largest and most diverse Visiting Nurse Associations in the United States. During the past year, Home Nursing Agency’s 850 employees served over 19,000 individuals throughout Blair, Bedford, Cambria, Centre, Huntingdon, Franklin and Fulton Counties.
“As a non-profit and CHAP accredited organization, the caring and compassionate employees of Home Nursing Agency have demonstrated innovation and responsiveness over the past 36 years by helping to expand the community’s health network to include private duty, hospice, adult day services and mental health/drug and alcohol counseling as well as numerous community-based initiatives such as Nurse-Family Partnership, Women, Infants and Children and AIDS Intervention Project.”
Home Nursing Agency will be honored on Tuesday, November 30 at an awards ceremony held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. The Agency’s statewide ranking will be revealed during the ceremony and depending on their placement, Home Nursing Agency could be considered for participation in the Top 100 Best Companies to Work for in America.
