Tyrone-Snyder Public Library officials were proud to announce this week the 700th ticket sold for next Saturday’s concert event went to Lois McFarland of Warriors Mark.
When she bought tickets 699 and 700 at Bressler’s Food Mart and Sports in Tyrone Sunday afternoon, she secured a financial goal concert organizer Chuck Banas set many months ago.
“It’s truly a huge success,” said Banas, who organized the show, which will feature “The Vogues,” Vanessa Campagna and comedian Robbie Wise.
Banas said the goal of 700 tickets was established after calculating how much the library would need to profit from the show to pay mortgage payments for one year.
Recently, library officials were approved for a low-interest mortgage thanks to the cooperation of five local banking facilities.
“As of right now, we’ve sold about 720 tickets,” said Banas yesterday afternoon.
Ticket are still available for the 7:30 p.m. showing at the Tyrone Area High School auditorium. They will be available at the new facility or from any library board member.
