Valentine’s Day is this weekend, but a family dinner is scheduled for this evening from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Tyrone Social Center for those who want to celebrate a little early.
For a special celebration, the Tyrone Community Partnership has scheduled the dinner, in response to the recent successes of both the “trio of pasta” event and the soup tasting contest held at the social center.
The menu for the evening showcases a variety of food to make anyone’s mouth water including: cranberry pork roast, scalloped potatoes, green beans with almonds, chunky apple sauce, homemade bread, red devil’s food cake and drinks.
Tickets for the dinner are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children ages four to nine. Children three and under eat for free.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Tyrone Chamber of Commerce, Open Door Visions and other Tyrone businesses or by calling 684-4116. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Upcoming plans and activities at the social center include: meals for Tyrone area residents and those visiting for the district wrestling tournament; a children’s carnival and a special St. Patrick’s Day dinner.
For more information about upcoming events at the social center, contact Tyrone Community Partnership president Ray Liddick at ray@tyronecommunity.org or visit the Tyrone Community Partnership web site at www.tyronecommunity.org.
Upcoming events will also be announced in the Daily Herald.
