In light of recent scams in Tyrone Borough where individuals were entering homes on the premise of being Water Authority employees, the issue of identification badges for Snyder Township employees was discussed at the regular meeting held Monday evening.
Secretary Viola Dysart requested the board’s approval to order ID badges for all township employees, and the request was also made to order an ID badge, badge case and vehicle magnetic decal for the code enforcement officer and sanitary enforcement officer.
It was so approved, and now the board will look into what types of ID badges to order for township employees. Further action will be taken at a later meeting.
Supervisors adopted Ordinance 2004-2 amending Ordinance 2003-2 to change the number of members on the township’s planning commission from five members to seven.
Those chosen to serve on the planning commission from a previous meeting include: Bob Ayers, James Thomas, Martin Starr, Ron Kobak and Fred Thomas. Those chosen at Monday night’s meeting to expand the committee include: Eleanor Miller and Rich Bumgardner.
Supervisors said the next step in the process is for the planning commission to meet as soon as possible to appoint officers.
Jessica Sheetz of the EADS Group would like to attend the meeting as well to offer advice, and supervisor Charlie Diehl would also like to attend.
Also at the meeting, supervisors declined to adopt Resolution 2004-8 to sign the overview and concurrence form from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for Kunzler’s Company. Township engineers have submitted recommendations to Kunzler’s before the forms can be accepted.
In other business, supervisors:
• approved the minutes of the reorganization meeting and the regular monthly meeting of January 5, 2004; the special meeting of January 14, 2004 and the special meeting of January 27, 2004;
• approved the 2003 per capita tax exonerations received from the tax collector;
• adopted Resolution 2004-13 approving the tax collector collecting a fee of $2 from banks and mortgage companies requesting tax transfer information;
