The Tyrone boys fresh from their best year in the history of the swimming program at Tyrone, opened the 2003-04 campaign with an 88-54 victory over the Central boys at Tyrone on Wednesday evening. The Tyrone girls team received two individual wins each from Jeri Harper and Katie Frye and both teamed in relay wins as well but the Lady Eagles dropped a close 86-80 decision to the Lady Dragons.
Eric Nulton and Brian Pearson keyed the boys victory. Nulton registered wins in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly and also was a member of the victorious 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. Pearson won the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke and was a member of both winning relays.
Matt Grimm won the 200 freestyle, Ted Feller finished first in the 50 freestyle and Zac Yeaton was first in the 100 breaststroke.
Harper won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while Frye won the 200 IM and 100 freestyle.
Zoe Yeaton won the 100 butterfly and was a member of the victorious 200 freestyle relay. Leah Cherry won the 500 freestyle, Paige Black won the 50 freestyle and was a member of the 200 free relay.
The swim teams will travel to Richland on Monday, Dec. 8 for a 5:30 p.m. meet
