Florence Carmon (Schneider) Robinson, 94 of Seattle, Wa. and formerly of Tyrone, died in Seattle in May of 2003.
She was born in California in 1908, the daughter of Frank and Adelaide (Carmon) Schneider. She was married in 1934 to James Robinson who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters: Sabrina Carlson of Seattle, Wa., and Florence Jacobsen of Pacific Palisades, Calif., and a son Fred Robinson of Caprstrano Beach, Calif. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Robinson was the last surviving member of her family of origin, but is survived by six half-sisters.
Mrs. Robinson was a graduate of the Coombs Conservatory of Music in Philadelphia.
“Pippi”, as she was called all her life was raised in Glen Lowrie, Tyrone. Following her marriage to Mr. Robinson, they moved to Santa Monica, Calif., in 1947, where they raised three children. She eventually moved back to Tyrone following Mr. Robinson’s death and lived with her half-sister Frances Wertz from 1977 until 1993. Her children remember her lovingly as “little mom”, a tiny, elegant woman who played classical music on the piano.
A graveside service will be held at the Schneider family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery, 245 Standing Stone Avenue, Huntingdon, this morning at 10 a.m.
Services are under the direction of the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon.
