In a game moved up to 3:30 p.m., the Bellwood-Antis junior high girls basketball team were taken to double-overtime on Thursday. With both schools begnning the game with 3-2 marks, the Lady Blue Devils edged Claysburg-Kimmel in two OTs 30-27 to improve their log to 4-2, while Claysburg-Kimmel drops to 3-3.
Seventh grader Liz Erickson led the Lady Blue Devils with 13 points and Amanda Ingram was also in double figures with 10.
“We got down early,” said Bellwood-Antis coach Steve Conlon. “But the girls played well after that spurt. When we got into the overtomes. the girls kept their composure and we were able to hang on in the second overtime to get the win.”
Bellwood-Antis, which has now doubled their win total from last year in just six games, is on the road at Spring Cove, on Monday at 3:30 p.m., and then home for a game against Glendale, on Thursday, at 4 p.m.
