The residents of Bellemeade Manor in Antis Township have their resident pooch to thank for a botched robbery attempt early this morning.
State police at Hollidaysburg report that at 4:10 a.m. today, a young man entered the Bellemeade Manor through the rear entrance and encountered a female employee. Police said he the demanded drugs from the woman.
At that time, police said the man was chased off the premises by a dog, which is owned by the residents of the manor.
Beverly Snyder, the manor’s administrator, was contacted by The Daily Herald for comment this morning, but declined and hung the phone up promptly.
The man is described as a white male, approximately 17 to 21 years of age. He was approximately 6-feet tall with a thin build. He has short blonde or strawberry blonde hair and freckles.
Witnesses told police he was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt, blue jeans and blue sneakers. He also had a blue cloth covering his face.
