The American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, will present the third annual “Strike Out Against Stroke,” a program designed to educate the public about the warning signs of stroke.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20 at the Blair County Ballpark. Gates open at 6 p.m. and game time is 7:05 p.m. Blood pressure screenings and stroke risk assessments will be available to interested fans.
In addition to the American Stroke Association, the program is sponsored by The Altoona Hospital Center for Medicine; Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital; HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Altoona; The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center and Home Nursing Agency.
General admission tickets can be purchased at a cost of $4 by calling the American Stroke Association office at 949-3160 or from Stroke Association volunteers.
