Mrs. Marian L. “Bobbi” Houser, age 85, of the Pennsylvania House, 2 West 11th Street, Tyrone, died Monday, November 25, 2002 at 7:05 a.m. at the Altoona Hospital.
She was born April 15, 1917 in Tyrone, the daughter of George B. and Nora Watson Wilson and on September 18, 1937 in Lock Haven was married to Charles J. Houser who preceded her in death November 5, 1970.
She is survived by one son George and wife Grace of Lancaster, a daughter-in-law Nancy of Cincinnati, Oh., six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great-greatgrandchildren and four step-great greatgrandchildren and a dear cousin Adelaide Zerbe of Tyrone. A son James died November 5, 2002. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister and was the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Margaret Baldrige Sunday School Class, the Chapel Volunteers, the Auxillary of the Presbyterian Home of Hollidaysburg and volunteered once a week there, the A.A.R.P. and the Tyrone Hospital Auxilary.
She was a 1936 graduate of Tyrone High School. She had been employed for 13 years by Lugg and Edmonds in Tyrone and retired from Big Yank as a warehouse shipper on May 29, 1981 after 10 years service.
A memorial service for Mrs. Houser will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Dunkelberger officiating. Interment in Grandview Cemetery will be at the convience of the family.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 102 West 13th Street, Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
