Elementary wrestlers were busy over the past week end participating in various competition.
The small fry were busy with a scrimmage with Philipsburg-Osceola prior to the Home Junior High and Varsity meet as well as elementary tournaments at Moshannon Valley, Huntingdon and Northern Cambria.
At the local level in the scrimmage; Nicholas Getz, Elijah Sleeth, Jarid Woomer, Mike Sleeth, Jessie Light, Christian Getz, Tanner Noll, Jim Russel, Ryan Isenburg and Trey Woomer all wrestled in the scrimmage with Philipsburg.
At Moshannon Valley, Tyler Osterhout, Andrew Warrender, Jarid Woomer and Trey Woomer completed. Jarid Woomer placed second and Trey Woomer placed third in their weight and age class.
At Huntingdon, Ty Snyder, Jarid Beckwith, Doug Rudy, A.J. Shope, Mark McMonigal, Kirby Tucker and Dustin Sprankle completed. Ty Snyder placed first, Jarid Beckwith and Kirby Tucker placed third and Mark McMonigal placed fourth in their weight and age class. A.J. Shope competed in two weight classes, winning first place in both.
At Northern Cambria, Ryan Fink, Dustin Stroup and Blake Brooks all placed third at their respective age group and weight class.
