Sophomore swimmer Eric Nulton turned in another Tyrone Area School record in the 100-yard butterfly. Swimming at the Penn State Natatorium at the PIAA State Swimming and Diving meet, Eric once again broke his own record bettering the time he set two weeks earlier at the Districts. Nulton qualified for the State meet finishing second in a time of :57.60. In swimming to a 20th place finish at States, Eric bettered his time with a 56.59 butterfly. He had been seeded 24th for the state meet, the lowest seed in the race. “He improved on his position and cut his best time by a complete second,” said outgoing TAHS swim coach Rich Bishop. Eric is only a sophomore and has quite a future to look forward to.”
