Rose (DiCello) Leone, age 91, of Epworth Manor and formerly of 3 Angora Road, Carnegie, was given to our father Friday, February 7, 2003 at 9:20 p.m. at Epworth Manor following an extended illness with Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was born November 15, 1911 at Carneige, the daughter of Nicola and Marie (Giardina) DiCello who preceded her in death.
On April 19, 1933 in Carnegie, she was married by the Reverend Father Domenicus to John J. Leone who preceded her in death on May 8, 1997.
She is survived by one son, John A. Leone of Bethlehem, Anita (Leone) Murray of Fort Worth, Texas and Loretta (Leone) Selgelid of North Hampton, Ma.
She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, three sisters Milinda Long of Pittsburgh, Evelina Brunelli of Ohio and Violanda Marion of California.
She was preceded in death by Ellia Capoferri and Flora Marinelli.
She was a member of the Holy Souls Catholic Church of Carnegie and of the Christian Mothers of Holy Souls.
She was also a Red Cross Volunteer tot he Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh, a trustee of the Sons and Daughters of Italy and a member of the Carnegie YWCA. She attended the Carnegie public schools.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed needle and art crafts.
Friends may call at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington Street, Huntingdon today from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home tonight at 8:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 6th and Washington streets, Huntingdon, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2003 with the Reverend Father Elwood Figirelle officiating.
Interment will be at Goodman Cemetery, Henderson Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested for Epworth Manor, 951 Washington Avenue, Tyrone, Pa. 16686 or to Saint Anthony of Padua c/o Holy Souls Catholic Church, 206 Mary Street, Carnegie, Pa. 15106.
