Sister M. Lambert Hagg, R.S.M., 75, member of Dallas Regional Community of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, died February 4, 2003 at Mercy Center, Dallas. Born Teresa Hagg on May 27, 1927 in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Ralph and Emma (Schoch) Hagg.
She is survived by brothers Francis, Joseph, Vincent and Eugene and sister Louise Klesius all of Tyrone.
She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Sister Hagg graduated from Tyrone High School and received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from College Misericordia, Dallas. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in Dallas on September 8, 1945, and professed her vows on March 12, 1948.
She taught in elementary schools of the dioceses of Altoona-Johnstown and Pittsburgh. She served as principal of St. Nicholas School, Nicktown, St. Mark School, Altoona and St. Joseph School, Portage. She also served as secretary and parish volunteer at St. Matthew Parish, Tyrone.
From 1982-1985, Sister was the administrator of McAuley Hall, Cresson. In 1997, she moved to McAuley Hall and served on the staff of Mt. Aloysius College as a clerical volunteer. In 2000 she joined the prayer ministry at McAuley Hall.
Family and friends will be received 2 to 8 p.,. Friday at McAuley Hall, Cresson, where wake service will be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Mt. Aloysius College, Cresson. Committal will be in the Sisters of Mercy cemetery.
Memorial contributions in the name of Sister M. Lambert Hagg may be made tot he Retirement Fund, Sisters of Mercy, P.O. Box 369, Dallas, Pa. 18612.
