The Tyrone boys’ swim team began Wednesday’s meet at Central Cambria with a new school record in the 200 Medley Relay and then won every race and backed that with plenty of second and third place finished to wipe out host Central Cambria 112-58.
The 200 Medley Relay team consisted of Brian McManigal, David Collins, Eric Nulton, and Evan Stover mark of 1:55.29 bettered the old TAHS record of 1:55.46 by .17 of a second as the Tyrone boys improved their season record to 9-2.
The Eagle men received double individual wins from McManigal in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, Nulton in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly and Stover in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Collins won the 100 breaststroke. Brian Pearson took the 500 freestyle and Pearson, Nulton, McManigal and Matt Elder won the 400 freestyle relay.
The Lady Eagles defeated Central Cambria 90-79 to improve their record to 3-8.
Jeri Harper and Katie Frye were double winners for the Tyrone women and both also were members of two winning relay teams. Harper won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, Frye was victorious in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle and the two joined Emily Albright and Zoe Yeaton on the 200 medley relay and Leah Cherry and Angel Diehl on the 400 freestyle relay. Diehl won the 50 freestyle, Yeaton took the 100 butterfly, Albright won the 100 breaststroke and Cherry, Albright, Diehl and Yeaton swam to victory on the 200 freestyle relay.
